Nan Zhao

Bio:

Nan Zhao received the B.S. degree in electronics and information engineering in 2005, the M.E. degree in signal and information processing in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in information and communication engineering in 2011, from Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China. He joined Dalian University of Technology in 2011, and became a full professor since 2020. Dr. Zhao has published more than 250 papers in leading international journals and conference proceedings (mostly in IEEE) of communications and networking, and more than 130 IEEE journal papers. The papers have been cited more than 6200 times in Google Scholar. He received Clarivate Global Highly Cited Researcher in 2020, IEEE Communications Society Asia Pacific Board Outstanding Young Researcher Award in 2018, Youth Science and Technology Award of China Institute of Communications in 2018, IEEE TCGCC Best Journal Paper Award in 2019, WCSP 10-Year Anniversary Excellent Paper Award in 2019, and Top Reviewer Award from IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology in 2016. He was nominated as IEEE ACCESS Associate Editor of the Month in August 2018, an Exemplary Reviewer by IEEE Transactions on Communications in 2018 and 2019, an Exemplary Reviewer by IEEE Communications Letters in 2016, and a Top Peer Reviewer in the Global Peer Review Awards in 2019. He also received the Best Paper Awards of IEEE VTC’17-Spring (the only one best paper award from all 475 papers), 6GN’20, CSPS’20, WCSP’19, IEEE ICNC’18, WCSP’18 and MLICOM’17.

Dr. Zhao is a senior member of the IEEE and a senior member of the Chinese Institute of Electronics. He is serving or served on the editorial boards of several journals, including IEEE Wireless Communications (Magazine), IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking, Journal of Network and Computer Applications, IEEE ACCESS, Wireless Networks, Physical Communication, AEU-International Journal of Electronics and Communications, Ad Hoc & Sensor Wireless Networks, and KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Systems. He has also served as (Lead) Guest Editors for 13 special issues on international journals. He has served as a TPC co-chair for IEEE GLOBECOM 2022–SPC, IEEE/CIC ICCC 2020–CT, WCSP 2020–SPC, IEEE/CIC ICCC 2018–SPC and MLICOM 2016, a General Chair for International Workshop on Connecting All Things for Enabling Smart Cities (CONTEST 2016) with VTC Spring 2016 and a General Co-Chair for International Workshop on Green Cognitive Radio Networks (GCRN 2015) with CHINACOM 2015. Additionally, he served as a TPC member for many IEEE conferences, e.g., GLOBECOM, ICC VTC, ICCC, and WCSP.

Yunfei Chen

Bio:

Yunfei Chen received his BSc (engineering) degree and MSc (engineering) degree from the Department of Electronic Engineering at Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai, China, in 1998 and 2001, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta in 2006. All degrees are in the field of communications. He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the iCORE Wireless Communications Laboratory at the same department. He is currently working as a Reader at the University of Warwick, U.K. His research interests include wireless communications, UAV communications, statistical signal processing, wireless relaying and energy harvesting.

Jie Tang

Bio:

Jie Tang received the B.Eng. degree in Information Engineering from the South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China, in 2008, the M.Sc. degree (with Distinction) in Communication Systems and Signal Processing from the University of Bristol, UK, in 2009, and the Ph.D. degree from Loughborough University, Leicestershire, UK, in 2012. From 2013 to 2015, he was a research associate at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Manchester, UK. He is currently a full professor at the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, South China University of Technology, China.

His current research centers around 5G and beyond mobile communications, including topics such as massive MIMO, full-duplex communications, edge caching and fog networking, UAV communications, simultaneous wireless information and power transfer. He is a senior member of IEEE, CIE and CIC, and currently serving as an Editor for IEEE Systems Journal, IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, and EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking. He also served as vice-chair of SIG on green cellular networks, and track co-chair for IEEE VTC-Spring 2018, EAI GreeNets 2019, ComComAp 2019 and ICCC 2020. He is a co-recipient of the best paper award in the 2018 ICNC, 2018 CSPS, 2019 WCSP and 2020 6GN.
