Call for Workshops
Introduction
Pre-Proposal Submission Inquiries
Should you wish to discuss ideas for a workshop proposal, feel free to contact the General Chair: Sanjay Goel ([email protected]), and conference manager Katarina Antalova ([email protected]).
Proposal Content
The proposal should be prepared as a document of no more than 4 pages in the official Springer proceedings format using a tighter alternate style (Word, Latex). The document should describe the following:
– Title of the workshop.
– Rationale and objectives for the workshop.
– The organizers’ backgrounds and bio.
– An estimate of expected attendance. In the case of follow-up workshops, please provide statistics from any previously held workshops.
– Names of potential participants, including program committee members and invited speakers (an indication that speakers have accepted to participate is a plus).
– A detailed plan (timeline) for conducting the workshop (including any plans for pre-workshop preparation and/or post-workshop follow-up).
– Planned format of the workshop, including the duration of the workshop (Half-day or Full-day), number of refereed papers, hot topic sessions, keynotes, panels (and panel formats) etc. Unique, creative and novel workshop formats are strongly encouraged and will be given particular consideration.
– Draft on Call for Papers (CFP) in maximum 1 page (excluded from the 4-page limit of the proposal and should be appended to the proposal).
Workshop selection
Workshops will be reviewed based on several factors, including:
– The potential for the topic of the workshop to generate stimulating discussions and useful results.
– The expected interest of the community in the workshop topic.
– The quality, organization, and plan described in the workshop proposal.
– Relevance to the main conference.
In the case of multiple submissions on similar topics, organizers may be encouraged to merge them.
Workshop Organizer's Responsibilities
The organizers of each workshop will:
– Publicize the workshop with a call for participation via the AICON website.
– Set up your own website for the workshop containing more details on the workshop, including CFP, workshop format, plans for publication (if any), participants, program, etc.
– Encourage potential participants to submit papers.
– Work with the AICON Publication Chairs to include workshop papers in the Springer digital library and the supplementary proceedings.
– Actively run the workshop.
Proposal submission
Please email your proposal directly to the General chair: Sanjay Goel ([email protected]), and conference manager Katarina Antalova ([email protected]). The deadline for submission is September 15, 2024. The submission should be a single PDF file, including both the proposal (max. 4 pages) and an appended Call For Papers.
